Powder and granular materials are manufactured and processed to produce end products which have consistent properties, however changes in raw materials, processing conditions environmental conditions can affect the end product.

Understanding the effects of these variables on the Flow Properties and Flowability of the product is important. In recent years a range of products for measuring various flow properties have become available to automate traditional measurements such as angle of repose, yield strength etc. Examples of the parameters generated by these new products and their applications are discussed.
