Ben studied for a BSc and PhD in Chemistry at the University of St Andrews, carrying out research in framework materials.
He continued in this area as a postdoctoral researcher at several UK universities before moving into analytical instrumentation and laboratory management, gaining experience in many new techniques in the process.
Ben is now an Analytical Technician in the School of Chemical & Process Engineering at the University of Leeds, where he manages a School Laboratory offering access and training to postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in particle characterisation and related techniques.
