As the pharmaceutical industry moves away from batch manufacture towards a continuous processing paradigm, focus on powder flow has increased significantly. With this shift in focus, efforts to model bulk powder flow behaviour from particle properties data are increasing.
This presentation will address some of the challenges associated with predicting powder flow using both mechanistic and statistical models, some of the common pitfalls, the influence of environmental conditions, and some thoughts on possible routes forward. Some case studies will be also shared.
