Sayantan Das is an Assistant Professor and one of the Department’s Program Coordinators at Texas A&M University–San Antonio.
His research focuses on synthesising nanoparticles and their composites, with a particular emphasis on using bottom-up self-assembly to create hierarchical surface structures that can enhance—or potentially replace—traditional, costly manufacturing methods.
His work explores renewable and rapid nanocomposite synthesis, the tuning and retention of nanoparticle physical properties within composites, and the development of processes for creating hierarchical material structures across multiple length scales on surfaces.
