Steve Ward-Smith

Dr Steve Ward-Smith is a Senior Applications Product Specialist  at Malvern Panalytical, where he has worked since 1995 and served as the company’s first laser diffraction technical specialist, and now is a senior applications specialist in laser diffraction instrumentation.
 
He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham (Colloids), a Master’s degree in Biomolecular Technology from the University of Leicester, and a Chemistry degree from the University of Manchester.
 
Steve is the current convenor of Working Group 5 on displacement counters (Coulter principle) within ISO TC24 SC4 and served as the chair of ISO TC281 in Fine Bubble Technology from 2016 – 2025. He still is chair of the UK mirror committee in this area, and in this role, he is particularly interested in the applications and measurement of bubbles across sectors, especially within the food and pharmaceutical industries.
